A little bit about me

A little bit about me

Welcome to my blog where I invite you to come along, as I go through my art journey.

My name is Silvana Gorgiev from Silvana Gorgiev Fine Art. Yes, i could've been a bit more creative with my business name, but sometimes you need to make a decision.

In this space i'll share what inspires me, what challenges I come across, what keeps me going and a lot more. I'll share my growth as an artist, how my workspace-studio changes, my approach to different art techniques and of course, my interior design styling of the artwork i produce.

I am a wife and a mama of two boys, so I know firsthand how hard it is to make time for creative practice. Yes, i did start by hiding in the study, in order to do few quick sketches. Now they are so big and so clever, they can sniff me out anywhere, therefore i'm moving from our study(my so called studio), to the garage in the next few weeks. Lucky it's summer.

My favorite thing is being with my family and enjoying the beauty of nature. I'm inspired by the old artists and i spend a lot of time taking photographs when i'm out. I wish i had super memory, so i don't have to take notes or photos, everywhere i go.

My art journey started when I was a little girl painting alongside my mum, who was a seamstress and designed the most amazing gowns and daywear i had ever seen. I dedicated a decade of my life to digital art, and then 5 years to Byzantine art, which have influenced me to do what i do today.

I decided to become a full time visual artist in 2017 when I married and completely transformed my life. Being a wife and later a mum, fulfilled my life in a way i never thought possible. It gave me strength and any doubts i had about my future disappeared. Now my life goes hand in hand with my visual art and they complete me.

Therefore, together with you, i'm looking forward to seeing how my artistic journey will evolve as this time, i'll do my best not to be limited by any styles or techniques. Hopefully you will see some of my artwork on your walls soon.
